Foundation Education Fund

Foundation Education Fund

Inaugurated in 2023, and kickstarted with initial funding in the summer of 2024, the Maryland Forestry Education Fund stands as a distinct and enduring resource. Its primary purpose is to bolster and enrich the capabilities of the Maryland Forestry Foundation in delivering education and resources to forest landowners. Additionally, it serves to empower district Forestry Boards and local governments in their quest to foster thriving and sustainable forests. The fund also promotes business engagement in pioneering best management practices within forestry.

A noteworthy feature of the fund is its commitment to reinvesting interest earnings back into the fund itself, ensuring its sustained growth and impact.

The bill was signed into law by Governor Wes Moore on May 8, 2023. A picture of the signing is below.
